On March the 20th, 2012 Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic in Ukraine Mohamed Said Akil visited Chernihiv State Technological University.

The Ambassador met with Rector of CSTU professor S.M. Shkarlet to discuss prospects of development of cultural ties and cooperation in science and education. During the meeting with students the guest emphasized that his country wants peace and supports the independence of all countries of their region, cares for the development of education and culture, leads the policy of cultural and religious tolerance.

On March the 20th, 2012 the competition for students and postgraduates teaching, research workers and teaching staff training in the leading higher education institutions and scientific establishments abroad in 2012 was announced.

As it was reported previously, in 2011, with personal initiative of Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov a budget program for students and postgraduates teaching, research workers and teaching staff training in the leading higher education institutions abroad was introduced.

Students of CSTU specializing in Electronic devices and systems take part in the Analog Design Contest. The contest is held by a world manufacturer of electronic components Texas Instruments as a part of its University program.

Recently all our student teams have been informed about successful previous examination. All of them have been admitted to take part in the contest.

A project of EU and a UN Development Program ‘Community oriented local development’ announce all-Ukrainian competition of scientific works ‘Stable development with the participation of local communities’.

3-rd – 6-th year students of higher educational establishments – partners of the Project ‘Community oriented local development’ are invited to take part in the competition.

On May 23-24, 2012 Chernihiv State Technological University holds ІІ International theoretical and practical conference ‘Integrated quality assurance for technological processes and systems’. Its cofounders are: Chernihiv State Technological University, Oerlikon Barmag GmbH, Germany, Institute of Information-Diagnostic Systems of NAU (Kyiv), ‘BAKH-Ingenering’.

Enterprises of Chernihiv region, leading scientific and educational institutions are invited to participate in the conference as cofounders and members of scientific-program committee.

Your ideas concerning subject area broadening are expected and will be considered.

On February 21 M. Azarov held a regular meeting in the club of Cabinet of Ministers. It was devoted to the discussion of the draft law ‘On Higher Education’. Rectors of the leading higher educational establishments of Ukraine including rector of CSTU prof. S. Shkarlet as well as representatives of student government and public organizations took part in it.

Participants shared their ideas concerning improvement of the draft law in the newspaper ‘Osvita Ukrainy’.

A student of MA course Svitlana Yushchenko took part in the II stage of all-Ukrainian competition of students’ scientific works on welding which was held in Ternopil National Technical University. She was ranked 2-nd. We congratulate and wish further achievements.

On April 17–20, 2012 року, the II stage of all-Ukrainian student competition on welding will take place in Chernihiv State technological University. Detailed information can be found on the site of Welding department.

Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine together with ‘Nestle Ukraine’ carries on all-Ukrainian social competition ‘Dreams Come True’ for students and postgraduates of higher educational establishments of Ukraine. The project is regularly reported by National TV and local media.

In 2012 the competition will be held from February to May in 3 stages. To take part in the competition one should fill in a form and a questionnaire .on the site of the project and the application (by March 30, 2012).

The rector of Chernihiv State Technological University PhD in Economics, prof. S. Shkarlet received a commendation from the President of Ukrainian association of investment experts „CFA Ukraine” concerning our students’ success in the International student competition of investment research.

On February 15, 2012 in Chernihiv State Technological University a training unit Delcam was opened. This is a training unit of one of the world leaders in designing CAD/CAM products for modeling, designing, producing and controlling complex products and equipment in engineering industry, transport, medicine and design.

Since February 1, 2012 report campaign concerning results of scientific and technical work of higher educational and scientific establishments subordinated to the ministry for 2011 has been taking place.On February 10, 2012 vice-rector of scientific work, PhD in Sciences, prof. V. Kazymyr successfully reported on scientific achievements of Chernihiv State technological University.

In accordance with the plan of International and All-Ukrainian scientific conferences and workshops for young scientists and students in 2012 approved by Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine, All-Ukrainian scientific conference ‘Innovative Technologies in Science and Education’ will be held on April 24-25, 2012 in Chernihiv State Technological University.

On January 24 Rector of Chernihiv State Technological University Prof. S. Shkarlet had a meeting with Prime Minister M. Azarov. They were discussing a new version of the law ‘About Higher Education’. Serhii Mykolaiovych shared his thoughts about the correspondence of the new version of the law to today’s realia in the newspaper ‘Holos Ukrainy’.

Fourth year students of FEIT Fedorchenko Bohdan and Suprun Viacheslav successfully passed correspondence stage of the V-th International Competition in the Field of Information Technologies “IT-Planet 2011”.

Fedorchenko Bohdan is taking part in programming competition Oracle Database Olympic and Suprun Viacheslav – in competition Oracle Java Olympic.

On February 2, 2012 they are expected to take part in the next stage of the competition in Kyiv.

Here are the results of applying and registration of works for the sixth competitive selection – 2011/2012 established by Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Zavtra.UA scholarship programme.

14 students of CSTU came to the second stage of the competition.

The results of this stage will be published after February 10, 2012.

Based on the results of written report grading, that was held by the investment market professionals, the following 5 university Teams received highest grades and would compete at the Ukrainian Finals for the opportunity to represent Ukraine at the CFA Institute Regional Finals in London: Chernihiv State Technological University, Kharkiv National University of Economics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kyiv School of Economics, National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy".

On December 23-24, 2011 the International scientific conference ‘Modernization aspects of human potential forming in the civil service system’ will take place in Chernihiv State Technological University. Welcome to participate.

On December 14, 2011 Chernihiv State Technological University took part in the parliamentary hearings on the subject: ‘Sponsorship of the development of software industry in Ukraine’ that took place in the hall of plenary meetings of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The meeting was organized by the committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on matters of science and education with the participation of the committees of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on matters of industrial and regulatory policy and entrepreneurship, on matters of finance, banking, tax and customs policy.

On December 9, 2011 the event ‘Human Library’ was held in Chernihiv State Technological University. It was a part of the project of the Mission of the International Migration Agency in Ukraine together with the State Committee of Ukraine on matters of nationalities and religions and East European Institute of Development, with financial support of US State Department.

The main objective of the project is popularization of cultural variety and forming of positive attitude of 16-22 year-old young Ukrainians to migrants, foreigners and national minorities in Ukraine. It can be achieved by holding all-Ukrainian campaign aimed to increase people’s awareness and by including the event ‘Human Library’ in extramural activities.

The team of postgraduates – representatives of faculty of Economics and faculty of Management and Entrepreneurship - successfully passed to the following stage of all-Ukrainian phase of International competition "CFA Research Challenge" 2011.
